carolyn johnson. >> hot weather today, lots of places hit triple digit temperatures. the hot spot 104 in livermore today it didn't get that hot in emeryville but warm enough for people to get out to enjoy the water. >> we have team coverage from abc 7 news in walnut creek. we're going to start with spencer christian. >> it feels warm standing nech to the map here, here is a sampling of high temperatures. 104 in livermore, 101 in clear lake. and 104 at you kia. numerous locations highs into upper 90s. and on the coast, there is a different story. a high of only 59 degrees in half moon bay. so the fog at the coast kept the coastline cool but there is no cooling felt beyond the coast line line f you're tired of the heat there is news you'll consider good news in

just a few minute autos because of the demand for air conditioning we're under an energy alert another hour. pg&e recommends curtailing as much use as you can, by reducing lighting and turning off unnecessary appliances until 7:00 tonight when things should begin to cool off. and how have people been coping? >> well, the temperatures now in walnut creek is 99 degrees. there is 100 just an hour ago. into upper 90s most of the afternoon. people did what they could to stay cool from going to a nearby pool to staying in the shade. there is little relief for those who had to work in this heat. the paving crew asked to start early to beat the heat. there are some local clubs did

obtained a request for the subpoenas from lawyers. they're calling into question the mayor's testimony before the ethics commission and they say the four people they want subpoenaed may be able to prove he committed perjury under oath, a felony. this target is christina alahi appointed to replace mirkarimi. building commissioner deborah walker, democratic former supervisor aaron peskin and walter wong. lawyers contend mayor lee lied twice when he took the stand june 29th. >> mayor lee testified he had never talked to any member of the board of supervisors before he sus spened the sheriff. >> the commissioner says alahi told her the mayor asked the newly appointed supervisor for her advice before suspending

mirkarimi. lawyers say lee answered another question. >> he testified he never asked or offered, rather, the sheriff a job. either directly or through an intermediate yairy. >> and saying walter wong, a friend of both the mayor and mirkarimi met with him in march. he says wong asked him to find out if mirkarimi would be asked in another city job. peskin says he was acting on behalf of the mayor. >> if correct and the mayor did not tell the truth, then in, affect the mayor may have commit aid felony while trying to remove the sheriff from misdemeanor. >> and monday, mayor lee responded to accusations of perjury. >> i've told the truth to the ethics commission and will continue to do that. >> commissioners will vote on whether to issue the spz at the next hearing july a15th.

witness koz begin testifying the following two days. the hearings scheduled to end august 16th. we received this statement and says in part reckless and outrageous allegations have been made about the testimony before the commission and the testimony before the commission was truthful and based on the facts. again, the next move is with a commissioners they will decide whether to issue this subpoena. >> thank you. >> and the father of a man accused of murdering a morgan hill teenager appeared in court himself today. and garcia fernandez is the father of the suspect accuse -- charged in the murder of sierra lamar. >> right, garcia-fernandez was

arrested last july on numerous counts of sexual child molestation, then in nine months sierra lamar disappeared and now, his son is charged with the murder. this man is accused of crimes could send him to prison for the rest of his life. his son is accused of a murder making him eligible for the death penalty. the journey collided in the court system. >> sometimes it's passed on. sometimes, it's not. it's one of those things that is unpredictable, like sex abuse itself. >> prosecutors say garcia-torres kidnapped and murdered 15-year-old sierra lamar in march. his father is accused of crimes that date back decades. and investigator as reved him for raping and sexually molesting a family between starting in 1990 between ages of five-14.

a young garcia-torres heard about accusations but at the time, garcia fernandez denied everything. by swearing on a bible before his family, deputy district attorney says abusers often convincing. >> they'll swear to god, swear on their father, on their mother and everything. that denial is very, very common. >> detectives say last year, garcia-fernandez confessed to crimes in a reported conversation and wrote a letter of apology to his victim. and we're predicting the identity but today, she says she came forward last year because she was afraid another generation of young girls in the family could with victims as well. >> there is a new family member may be exposed to this risk and often times that does trigger a disclosure. >> this judge ordered

garcia-fernandez to be held to answer to 25 counts of child molestation, including seven counts of raping a young girl. >> thank you. >> abc 7 news learn there'd will not be a retrial in the case of william lynch, the man admits beating a priest he said molested him as a child. and the jury deadlocked on that charge last week and acquitted lynch of felony assault and elder abuse charges. lynch's attorney says the decision means he can now move on. lindner claims he -- denied rather he molested lynch. >> and still coming up tonight governor brown signs a law to give homeowners more breathing room and what yir bank must

hour ago he sur surfaced back upstream. we caught up with it, it was swimming in the tight lazy sort of lethargic circles on the surface and drifting further upstream away from the bay. then just before 4:00 turned and headed towards the bay, stops and stayed underwater. the mammal center was in a wait and see mode. there are no obvious injuries they like to intervene only as a last resort. the fire department can come out and curious came, hopeful for a glimpse. >> i saw a beautiful dolphin that is lost. >> from what we can see and talk to experts it appears the animal is not in immediate distress. and this looks like he's able

over san francisco, and you can see there are clear skies across much of the bay area and there is a little bit of fog beginning to push in from the coastline there. is finger fog pushing through the golden gate. there is a look up towards the headlands. it's warm inment loks. there is live doppler 7 hd. i'm going to come out that have to show you just high temperatures one more time. there is live doppler 7 hd, no fewer than a half dozen locations had official highs above 100 degrees. there are other readings of 100 or more. you can see now there are low clouds and fog near the coast. exerting no cooling influence inland. and there is temperatures at 100 degrees in fairfield. 101 in antioch. temperatures coming down a little bit. there is a difference between 101 and 104. 98 degrees in fremont and 90s

north bay ask santa clara valley. there is sunny skies, warm, and highs into mid to upper 80s. there is upper 70s to low 80s. downtown san francisco there is a high of 66 tomorrow, 60 into the north bay district. into far north, we'll see 90s tomorrow, near east bay highs into 70s up to 80s in castro valley. inland east bay hot again, but not so hot as today, lots of mid to upper 90s, maybe 100 in brentwood. monterey bay, 70s near the bay. here is the accu-weather forecast. there is cooling friday then into weekend there is mid to upper 80s on the coast.
